  • Rebranded and launched AMPOWER Program nationwide

  • Designed and facilitated AMPOWER Upper Limb Prosthetic Workshops – the first community building event in UL for patients, clinicians and referral sources and offered CEUs for professionals.

  • Designed programming and led the AMPOWER Women’s Retreat in Greenville, SC in 2015

  • Generated and solidified mutually beneficial working partnership agreements with the Trauma Survivors Network, Sepsis Alliance, Challenge Athletes Foundation, OPAF First Clinics, and the Amputee Coalition.Manage and foster all of these relationships with a focus on service.

  • Develop and manage all aspects of the ever expanding AMPOWER peer visitor network including designing training and marketing materials, collaborating with HPO leadership to build regional peer visitor teams, training new peer mentors and providing support for Regional Coordinators, maintaining a national database of active mentors and logging visitor requests to ensure follow-through

  • Provide AMPOWER education to physicians and clinicians involved with amputee care, collecting data on the efficacy of the program and striving to continuously improve amputee patient care.

  • Lead the development the program, building the national network to over 960 trained peer mentors, with additional access to 200+ teen, pediatric, parent and spouse support members

  • Oversee and provide support to a team of over 75 Regional Coordinators across the United States.

  • Recipient of the J.E. Hanger Award for Customer Service 2011

  • Design and structure the AMPOWER Program’s supplemental online support community, providing content, coordinating online groups and discussion forums, thoroughly vetting each new member application and monitoring all site activity daily.

  • Field AMPOWER peer visitor requests to ensure that all amputees seeking support and information receive it promptly (within hours in most cases).

  • Lead and collaborate with a team of five site administrators to create the number one online resource for amputees providing support, education and community.

  • Have combined my years of experience in the field of patient advocacy, education and prosthetics to participate in numerous speaking engagements including live television news interviews, newspaper and magazine articles, cable television programs, the Amputee Coalition’s Lobby Day on Capitol Hill, keynote speaker at events like Youth Leadership Spokane and Rotary District Conferences and numerous student bodies across the country, fundraising events, etc.  As a national trainer and motivator, I utilize every opportunity possible to inspire others to challenge their perceived limitations and create their best lives.

 

 

Hanger Upper Extremity Prosthetics Program Consultant                               2001-2009

  • National Patient Advocate with UEPP, met with patients, families, doctors and therapists to provide UE education and resources. 

  • Coordinated and managed all aspects of setting up the Patient Evaluation and Education Clinics across the US, maintaining regular communications with patients, specialists and patient care coordinators.
